What are Probiotics?

When we ask what are probiotics? we’re referring to mostly bacteria, and some yeasts, that have been shown to have a positive effect on our gut and our health. Probiotics can come in the foods we eat and the supplements we take.

What are Activated Probiotics?

Activated probiotics are mostly bacteria that have been woken up from their freeze dried state. When probiotics are bottles and stored they are kept in an inactive freeze dried state – for most intents and purposes, they are asleep. As of the writing of this article, all probiotics sold on store shelves are inactive, asleep.

How are Activated Probiotics better?

Activated probiotics are ready to get started immediately – no delays, no wakeup needed. When you take powdered or inactivated probiotics, most of them will be flushed down the toilet.

When scientists want to study the effects of probiotics, the first thing they do is activate the probiotic bacteria in a petri dish before actually growing/fermenting them to study their effect.
